The importance of monitoring Zoom video conferences with PRTG
Video conferences have all but replaced the traditional company meeting. As a result, communication via the Zoom platform must be both smooth and easy. PRTG automatically detects unexpected errors and malfunctions, allowing you to quickly turn to another video conference system in the event of an emergency.

The Zoom platform must work well for all participants, from the time the application is downloaded until the participant enters the virtual conference room. PRTG comes with the necessary control modes to make sure this is true. If users run into problems while downloading, the IT admin can find another way to provide the Zoom application. The same goes for video recording that is unavailable during a scheduled meeting or webinar.
If unexpected difficulties arise with the Zoom platform, the IT admin can use PRTG to identify the source of the error and make sure all participants are informed of the problem. If necessary, the admin can implement a “plan B,” by switching the meeting to another platform (for example).

You can use the Paessler monitoring tool to monitor many other video conference tools besides Zoom. These include Cisco Webex, GoToMeeting, RingCentral Americas, and join.me.
If you wish to monitor Microsoft Teams with PRTG, the Microsoft 365 Service Status Advanced Sensor is available with version 20.3.61. And with the REST Custom Sensor, you can monitor more exotic video conference systems such as BigBlueButton. In this case, however, some manual tweaking is required.
